Celebrate Japanese American Culture with the Nikkei Student Union

The Nikkei Student Union at Cal Poly Pomona is a vibrant cultural, community and social organization that celebrates Japanese American heritage while fostering unity among students. Through cultural events, performances and weekly meetings, we create a space where students can learn, connect and honor the traditions that shape our shared history. Our annual Culture Night brings this mission to life through storytelling, traditional dance, taiko and collaborations with campus dance teams, showcasing the richness and resilience of Japanese American culture.

We need your support to keep these traditions thriving. Donations help fund our annual Culture Night performance, as well as events like mochitsuki, the traditional Japanese mochi pounding. Contributions also cover materials for props, merchandise and venue costs that make our cultural programming possible. With your help, we can continue to preserve and share Japanese American history and culture with our campus community and inspire future generations to take pride in their heritage.
