Welcome Aboard Ya Landlubber!!

At Cal Poly Pomona, the Solar Boat team brings students together from across disciplines to design, build, and compete with a boat powered entirely by renewable energy. This hands-on project gives students the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while building teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills. Every design decision and test on the water moves us closer to a more sustainable future and prepares our students to be leaders in engineering, business and innovation.

We need your help to make it possible. Donations will offset the costs of materials, workshops, meals and travel as our team prepares for competitions across the country, including the California Solar Regatta at Rancho Seco Recreational Area in May 2026. Your support doesn’t just bring our solar boat to life — it gives students the chance to learn, grow and showcase the power of renewable energy on a national stage.
