Thank you for your interest in Cal Poly Pomona’s collegiate section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). All funds raised contribute to our members’ personal and professional development, for which we have received multiple national and regional recognitions.
Our Youth Engineering Success Program (YES), one of our biggest outreach events, has won one national and three regional awards. We achieved the Women in Engineering Local 2022 Membership Growth Award for demonstrating exceptional 160% growth to over 250 members, making us one of the largest collegiate sections in the region.
We promote higher education and professional achievement to inspire future women engineers. We accomplish these goals by coordinating outreach events for students ranging from elementary school to community college. These events provide information and resources encouraging students to pursue engineering or other STEM-related fields. Additionally, we organize and host professional development workshops and an annual “Evening with Industry” networking banquet to connect our members to the engineering community. There, our members acquire valuable insight and connections for the success of their careers.
By partnering with our collegiate section, you will directly connect with and support motivated and dedicated students, ready to accelerate into the future of engineering. With your support, we hope to continue making a positive impact on women in engineering.
CPP SWE’s External and Outreach branch participates in career fairs, hosts workshops, and empowers the youth by providing mentorship, scholarships, and pre-college opportunities to students in our communities. A donation of $10 allows students in our community to continue to engage with these foundational opportunities.
Advancing Community Colleges by Empowering Student Success (ACCESS) is a workshop for prospective transfer students to connect them with the benefits of studying engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. Students are able to connect with key figures such as the Dean of Engineering, leaders in the Career Center and Office of Financial Aid, and more. A $20 donation allows a prospective transfer student to get one step closer to their engineering degree.
Youth Engineering Success (YES) is an award-winning outreach event to introduce middle school students to engineering through hands-on activities and campus tours. A $25 donation supports one middle schooler to attend YES.
Women in STEM (WiSTEM) is an inspirational opportunity for high school girls to learn about STEM careers and various engineering majors. Students engage in a poster competition, build an engineering project, and tour campus laboratories. A $30 donation supports one high schooler to attend WiSTEM.
Evening with Industry (EWI) is a chance for students to connect with industry professionals and gain insight into their career options. A $40 donation means supporting a student's ability to take part in this unrivaled professional networking opportunity!
Women in Engineering Conference (WE24) is focused on empowering women in engineering and technology through professional development, networking, and innovation. A generous donation of $50 will support a student to travel to Chicago, IL and attend this wonderful opportunity!
