ABOUT US:
Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) was established in 2021 in collaboration with the Cal Poly Pomona STEM Success Network. Focusing on retention efforts and environment enhancement activities, WiSE provides resources and support services for students to succeed in STEM. WiSE is committed to creating a supportive community for STEM students and strives to inspire more students to pursue STEM careers.
As part of WiSE outreach efforts to increase the representation of women in engineering, the Femineer program engages K-12 students through project-based learning via the Cal Poly Pomona 'learn by doing' approach. Early exposure to STEM provides students with opportunities to acquire technical knowledge and practical skills needed to boost confidence and enhance career readiness—producing strong candidates for the STEM field. We hope to inspire many young students to reach their STEM potential!
OUR REQUEST FOR SUPPORT:
The Femineer Program connects with local K-12 Femineer schools to engage students in project-based learning experiences and seminars with current students, faculty, and industry professionals. Every April, participating Femineer schools and their students are invited to the Femineer Summit at Cal Poly Pomona to showcase their yearlong projects, meet other students and the CPP community, and learn from industry professionals. Funds for this campaign will be used to provide support towards funding these experiences for the Femineer Summit in April 2025. We hope to provide up to 500 students with support.
Funds registration fees, materials, and supplies for a group of 40 Femineers.
