John Greg Seymour Endowment Fund

In Memory of John Greg Seymour

Dear Friends,

Greg Seymour's lifelong dedication to education began in the natural wonders of Stoddard’s Canyon, sparking a passion that eventually led him to a transformative career. Despite early academic challenges, influential teachers like Mr. Nyeholt, Ted Hanes, Jane London, Miss Helmsley, and Jack Nichols shaped Greg's educational journey. His teaching philosophy emphasized collaboration, active learning, and a genuine connection with students.

Greg Seymour's legacy as an educator is evident in the countless lives he touched, leaving an indelible mark on generations of students who, inspired by his teachings, went on to positively impact the world.

In memory of our beloved husband, father, and friend to many, the family is establishing an endowed scholarship fund at Cal Poly Pomona. We invite you to participate in preserving John’s memory with a contribution to help establish the Seymour Endowment Fund.

By contributing to this endowed scholarship fund, you play a pivotal role in preserving his memory while directly impacting the futures of aspiring educators. The endowed scholarship will specifically support students who share John's dedication and have been accepted into the College of Education Student Teaching Program, ensuring that his influence and passion for teaching continue to flourish through the next generation of educators.

Your generous support not only honors John's remarkable life and career but also actively contributes to shaping the future of education. We invite you to be a part of this enduring tribute, allowing John's spirit to live on in the hearts and minds of those who follow in his educational footsteps.

In the event that the endowment goal of $50,000 is not reached prior to 01/01/2029 (5 years), gifts contributed will be endowed under the existing Partners in Education Endowment. The Partners in Education Endowment investment supports scholarships for students enrolled in student teaching.
