Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) was established in 2021 as part of the Cal Poly Pomona STEM Success Network. Originally the Women in Engineering (WE) program, WiSE provides resources and support services for students to succeed in STEM, focusing on retention efforts and environment enhancement programs. WiSE is dedicated to not only creating a supportive community for our current STEM students, but also strives to inspire students to consider STEM as a possible career.
As part of ongoing programs to support our future STEM professionals, the Femineer Program engages K-12 students with project-based learning experiences through the Cal Poly Pomona way of 'learn by doing.' Early exposure to STEM provides students with opportunities to acquire the technical knowledge and practical skills necessary to become confident and strong in their future careers. We hope to inspire many young students to reach their potential in STEM!
Request for Support. Throughout the academic year, the Femineer Program connects with local area K-12 Femineer schools to engage students in seminars with current students, faculty, and industry professionals, and project-based learning experiences. Funds will be used to provide support towards funding these experiences for the Femineer Summit in April 2024. We hope to provide up to 500 students with support.
We invite you to join with us as we begin our journey forward through our Femineer program. Solid beginnings lead to future growth.
