CPP Bands is thrilled to announce that the Cal Poly Pomona Wind Ensemble was selected through juried peer review to perform at the 2024 Western/Northwestern College Band Directors National Association Division Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. CPP Bands was selected from submitted concert recordings from the 2022-2023 academic year and upon review by a panel of collegiate wind band conductors were ranked amongst the top university wind bands that submitted recordings from the Western and Northwestern CBDNA divisions.
Only eight university wind bands were chosen to perform at this prestigious conference. The other university band programs that were selected have substantially larger wind/percussion performance music major population, often with graduate music programs. Therefore, please join us in congratulating the CPP Wind Ensemble students as this is the first time Cal Poly Pomona has been invited to perform at this distinguished conference.
CPP Bands Director, Rickey H. Badua, and the students welcome and would appreciate any support from our campus community and beyond that can help provide support on this historic milestone for the CPP Band program.
