Introduction
Our beautiful yet simple modular house has been designed to combat the global climate change and California's housing crisis. We have a vision of building a multi-generational community of sustainable houses around edible gardens that will create a sense of belonging and connection between the residents.
We're proud to introduce our multi-disciplinary team from civil engineering, architecture, regenerative studies, mechanical engineering, electrical & computer engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, and business. Our Budget & Costs:
Our house design cost approximately $280,000 to build the superstructure, and an additional $120,000 to transport and assemble the house at the competition site, as well as to support students who will be working on this project full-time over the summer. We have raised $160,000 so far, but we need your help to fundraise the rest of the competition costs. All your donations will be tax deductible and you will receive tax receipts from the university. We have partnered with Habitat for Humanity, and they’re helping us secure a donated land (potentially in Pomona, Chino, Chino Hills, or Ontario), so that a deserving family or veteran can receive this house as a gift at the end of the competition.
Please donate to this good cause, to (1) support Cal Poly Pomona’s students’ learn-by-doing experience, (2) to combat global climate change and CA Housing crisis by designing a prototype house that is sustainable and affordable, and to (3) support a deserving family/veteran, who will receive this house as a gift at the end.
