Our Cal Poly Pomona Steel Bridge team consists of undergraduate engineering students that work together to design, fabricate, and construct a one-tenth-scale model steel bridge. Our project integrates technical knowledge with hands-on experience, aligning with Cal Poly Pomona's renowned "Learn by Doing" philosophy.
Through their involvement with the Steel Bridge team, students have the valuable opportunity to work together as a team and apply the knowledge acquired in their classes to create an award-winning bridge.
Throughout the years we have shown amazing results and have placed 1st in Regionals and 4th in Nationals during the 2020-2021 Student Steel Bridge Competition, a milestone never achieved in Cal Poly Pomona’s history.
With regionals taking place in Hawaii this year, we need your help more than ever. We want to leave a legacy for CPP Steel Bridge and we have pride and confidence that we can reach great heights. If you would like to support us on this momentous journey, please consider pledging your support!
We Need Your Help
We are very proud of the achievements of our amazing team and the tremendous progress we have made thus far. As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming Student Steel Bridge Competition in Hawaii, we are resolved to showcase our tremendous dedication and unparalleled hard work.
To consistently succeed in competition, the Cal Poly Pomona Steel Bridge Team relies heavily on the generous support of our donors. We owe our notable accomplishments to your patronage. However, it is important to acknowledge the mounting challenges we face due to the escalating costs of steel, a crucial material that entails significant monetary investment.
Your invaluable contribution will enable us to acquire essential resources such as steel, shop drawings, fasteners, connections, laboratory equipment, and cover the expenses of out-of-state travel. These indispensable supplies will empower us to construct an extraordinary steel bridge, thereby allowing us to compete at the peak of our abilities in both regional and national competitions. These essential materials will allow us to create an amazing steel bridge that will help us reach our goal of excelling in regionals and nationals.
If you would like to support us on this journey please consider donating. With every dollar donated, we get closer to our goal.
A Message from Our Project Managers
To our alumni, family, friends, and future donors,
As Project Managers for the 2023-2024 CPP Steel Bridge Team, we have the incredible opportunity to lead a motivated, enthusiastic, and hard-working group of officers and general members. Our commitment to excellence has consistently earned our team top regional and national rankings, a true testament to our dedication, resilience, and passion.
The American Institute of Steel Construction released the new competition rules in early September, and the team has been dedicating numerous hours through all aspects of the process to continue our success. However, none of this would be possible without you, our sponsors!
We will be competing in regionals in early April at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, as well as in nationals at Louisiana Tech University! With both competitions taking place out of state this year, we are faced with heightened expenses for travel, materials, and tools on top of the need to meet an accelerated project timeline. The support we have received from donors like you in the past has been instrumental in helping us achieve our goals, and we once again find ourselves in need of your generosity to make winning a reality. By supporting CPP Steel Bridge, your help also provides us with incomparable real-world engineering experiences that we cannot get in the traditional classroom setting.
Our bridge design and construction team, along with our dedicated members, form a winning team and all we ask is for the opportunity to show our worth! We invite you to join us on this momentous journey by donating to our team. Your support not only empowers us to excel in our immediate goals but also ensures the growth of our skills and knowledge, which will have a long-lasting impact on our professional careers.
Thank you so much for being a crucial part of our journey towards success. We look forward to making you proud and representing excellence in everything we do!
