The Black Alumni & Friends Chapter is dedicated to the educational, cultural and professional growth of the Black Community. Our commitment extends to our Cal Poly Pomona alumni and current Black students who are in the midst of their academic pursuits.
In partnership with the university, we recognize that recruiting and retaining Black students is a challenge based on a variety of factors. To combat these challenges, financial support can give them time to focus on their academic goals and ensure that their work experience aligns with their career path.
To support these efforts, the Black Alumni & Friends Chapter Board is announcing its goal to establish a scholarship to support students from all academic disciplines who have contributed to the advancement of African/Black people in the diaspora.
As a Black Alumni & Friends Chapter member and Cal Poly Pomona alumni, you understand more than anyone else the challenges our students face, having been a student yourself. College is a microcosm of society, thus you can attest that in both our academic careers and professional lives receiving support has catapulted many to success.

“Throughout my academic career, I have had limited financial resources to pay for schooling, which drove my decision to enroll at a community college before attending a four-year university.
The scholarship I received from the Black Faculty and Staff E-Board helped me overcome one of the biggest barriers that stands in the way of my graduation from Cal Poly Pomona.”
