Animals are amazing! They make us smile, make us laugh and can create incredibly meaningful human connections with children and adults. Nowhere is this more on display than at the Cal Poly Pomona Petting Farm.
For 12 years, the Petting Farm has been a major attraction for people visiting Discovery Farm at AGRIscapes Cal Poly Pomona. Last year over 25,000 people petted and fed the cute and friendly animals while on field trips and during special events like the Pumpkin Festival.
At this time, due to COVID-19 related restrictions, the Petting Farm is not able to be open for visitors. Since the Petting Farm is a self-supporting activity, the loss in revenues has been especially difficult. Like people, the animals still need care and feeding throughout the year. This works out to about $390 per animal. In addition to feed, our student assistants care for the animals’ welfare and health needs including vaccinations and cleaning the pens. The animals are also very eager to get some loving attention along the way!
We are asking you to join with us during this time and help support the Petting Farm animals. Would you be willing to assist with a donation to allow this joy-providing activity to continue? Even a small amount would be a great help that the animals will very much appreciate.
When we can open again to the public, we will have a grand reopening and you will be invited. It will be a great celebration that the animals are looking forward to. In addition to our usual cast of characters you will be able to meet the newest member of the crew, a young lamb was named by our many supporters! In the meantime we will keep you updated to Petting Farm goings-on with our newsletter and social media including live streaming activities on Facebook.

A seven dollar donation will give us what we need to care for one of our animals for about one week. This includes food, cleaning, and other routine care.
A thirty dollar donation will give us what we need to care for one of our animals for about one month. This includes food, cleaning, and other routine care.
A $99 donation will give us about what we need to care for one of our animals throughout this summer. This includes food, cleaning, and other routine care.
A $350 donation will give us about what we need to care for one of our animals for an entire year. This includes food, cleaning, and other routine care. Just 22 gifts at this level will cover all of our animals between now and next year.
A $1,050 donation will give us about what we need to care for THREE of our animals for an entire year. This includes food, cleaning, and other routine care.
