Sonia Kovalevsky Day
The new women in mathematics club on campus, Sophie's Circle, is teamed up with CPP and CSU Fullerton students and faculty along with faculty from University of Laverne and Pomona College. Sonia Kovalevsky Day has been rotated between CPP, CSU Fullerton and Pomona College for three years now and with this being CPP's turn, having Sophie's Circle be the main student club of the event seemed fitting.
The event is aimed towards supporting underrepresented students, especially young girls, with their interest in mathematics and other related fields. CPP and CSU Fullerton students are working together to create various math activities around different topics to foster learning mathematics. The plan is to provide attendees lunch and t-shirts while also giving books to the students.
$5
High Five
Printing isn't the most costly but with the amount of expected participants, those numbers add up! This helps with the cost of activity supplies, flyers, and other printing necessities!
$10
The Base 10 Look
We want every participant to receive a t-shirt. This provides everyone with an event shirt!
$20
20/20 Vision to Read
Student attendees will be able to take home books to further encourage and support the pursuit of a math career.
$50
Halfway Point
Each volunteer will be spending half of their daytime hours running the event to make sure everyone has a good time! This will go towards the behind-the-scenes cost of hosting this event.
$200
Wow How'd You Know?

Technically, volunteers will be on campus for 33% of their Saturday to help out and with this donation, we're a third done with this project!
