Mark Manlapaz Memorial Scholarship

CPP Crowdfunding is currently undergoing routine maintenance, and giving to this page is temporarily unavailable. If you wish to make a gift to The Mark Manlapaz Memorial Scholarship at this time, you can do so now at this link. Thank you for your support!

Mark Manlapaz passed on June 29, 2018, at the age of 37, at 4:30 P.M. He lives in the heart of not only his beloved mother Carmelina and step-father Ken, who raised him ever since he was a child, but also in the lives he touched and the numerous friends he had.

Mark was a Cal Poly Pomona graduate receiving two degrees, a B.A. in Psychology in 2006 and a B.S. in Human Resources in 2012. He worked multiple positions in Cal Poly Pomona including working at Los Olivos, University Housing Services, and with the University Police Department for a total amount of 16 years. Under the University Police Department, he worked as a Public Service Specialist. Throughout his lifetime he worked up to 3 jobs at a time in order to help those he loved. He helped up and coming youth by gifting students money for their schooling on top of sending money to his family in the Philippines to relieve financial stress. Mark not only helped people with finances but he also volunteered his time and was involved in the Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education group. Prior to his passing, he held two jobs, one, a lead for Cal Poly Pomona's Public Safety Specialist department and the second as a Park Ranger for Claremont.

The dream now is to commemorate the kind giving soul Mark embodied in life. In order to continue the good Samaritan acts he began, the Mark Manlapaz family welcomes you to donate to the Mark Manlapaz Memorial Scholarship. By doing so, many students will be helped and Mark will live through not only the memories he left with everyone with but now also now the students that will be aided in his honor.

Thank you for your support that will help make this dream become a reality.

Best Regards,

Carmelina and Ken, Mark's mother and step-father

Liz, family friend and scholarship campaign leader
