Agribusiness Travel Fund

The Agribusiness & Food Industry Management program emphasizes the Cal Poly Pomona 'learn by doing' philosophy. We implement this through our participation in intercollegiate competitions, conferences, and trade shows. We have a long history of competing in the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) business and marketing plan competitions. We also compete in the National Grocers Association (NGA) case study competition and the Food Distribution Research Society (FDRS) Student Food Marketing Challenge. Students have also traveled to the Central California Research Symposium to present research results. This provides our students with the opportunity to present in front of judges from the industry, network with industry representatives, meet students and professors from other universities, and experience trade shows.

The benefits from students participating are immense. Not only do they learn how to do presentations in high pressure situations, they also develop their soft skills through engaging with industry representatives and others at the events. Some students have never left the Los Angeles area, so these activities broaden their horizons and show them the scope of the agri-food industry.

Since 2014, Agribusiness & Food Industry Management students have traveled to Jacksonville, Florida; Salt Lake City, Utah; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; San Diego; Fresno, and Las Vegas, Nevada for competitions and conferences. Such trips require significant funding. Expenses include airplane tickets, conference fees, meals, uniforms, etc. Your donation of any size will go a long way toward making these valuable learning experiences possible.

Thanks in advance for your support!

FAQ

What is the "Donor Wall"?

The Donor Wall displays a full list of the donations to the campaign, and it can be viewed by clicking the "Donor Wall" tab on the campaign page. Using the options found at the bottom of this donation page, each donor can customize the way their gift can be viewed on the site by hiding their name, the amount the gave, or both.

What is the difference between hiding my name on the Donor Wall and making my donation anonymously?

Hiding your name and/or the amount you gave on the donor wall only changes the way your gift is acknowledged on this campaign's page. Your donation may still be acknowledged through publications of CPP Magazine and any other methods of recognizing CPP's donors. If you wish to make your gift totally anonymous, answer "Yes" to the question "Do you prefer to make this donation anonymously?". This will also give you the opportunity to request that all donations you make to CPP in the future will be treated the same way. Please note, that you will also need to select your Donor Wall display preferences for each gift you make to Cal Poly Pomona Crowdfunding or Giving Day.
